The Allied Trades Assistance Program (ATAP) is a non-profit organization created by Philadelphia trade unions to provide mental health and substance abuse treatment services to their members, retirees, and dependents.
ATAP was established with the goal of containing costs and promoting improved service delivery for these issues. ATAP operates as a managed care organization and follows requirements in accordance with the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, which mandates that insurance coverage for mental health and substance use disorders be no more restrictive than coverage for other medical conditions.
