Kyli’s Professional Journey
Kyli’s educational journey began with her undergraduate and graduate studies in Buffalo, New York, where she pursued English Literature with a focus on Islamic Studies and Psychology, followed by a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her career started in vocational rehabilitation, assisting unhoused individuals in finding employment and connecting with local services. This experience laid the foundation for her subsequent role in a busy outpatient community mental health center in Buffalo, where she worked with a diverse clientele, including adolescents, refugees, and individuals with opioid use disorder.
Kyli’s commitment to mental health care led her to Denver, Colorado, where she worked at the Eating Recovery Center, providing therapeutic support to individuals stepping down from inpatient hospitalization. Her career trajectory continued to ascend as she transitioned to a clinician role at an inpatient addiction treatment center, eventually becoming an Executive Director overseeing detox and inpatient care.
Kyli’s Arrival at Guardian
The desire to return to the East Coast led Kyli to Guardian, where she was impressed by the organization’s leadership and commitment to client care during the recruitment process. As the Clinical Director, and more recently, the Director of Outpatient Services in Maine, Kyli oversees the outpatient programs at
Bishop Health and
Pine Tree Recovery Center. In this role, she focuses on peer supervision, ensuring clinicians feel supported and prioritizing client care in line with company policy and ethical standards.
Day-to-Day at Guardian
Kyli’s daily tasks revolve around supporting her team through peer supervision, quality assurance, and staff training. Her goal is to enhance the internship program, aiming to welcome 10 interns from local schools to support staff and offer a place for new clinicians to learn about multidisciplinary treatment approaches.
Why Guardian?
Kyli’s position at Guardian represents a significant and gratifying shift in her career. She expresses her enthusiasm for the supportive and ethically driven leadership at Guardian, stating, “It’s so refreshing to work for a senior executive leadership team that garners so much respect and ethical awareness. It’s clear that everyone on staff prioritizes the well-being of our clients above everything else.”
Kyli is especially appreciative of Guardian’s commitment to prioritizing client care, a principle that guides the operation of the outpatient programs under her supervision. “What sets both Bishop and Pine Tree apart is Guardian’s overarching dedication to putting client care at the forefront. I value being a part of an organization that emphasizes both care and accessibility, making it a truly fulfilling workplace,” she adds.
One of the aspects Kyli finds most fulfilling about her work is the organization’s ability to meet clients exactly where they are, tailoring treatment plans to address their primary needs effectively. This adaptability facilitates a fluid transition across various treatment modalities, ensuring clients receive the most appropriate and comprehensive care possible.
Personal Life and Hobbies
Outside of work, Kyli enjoys spending time outdoors with her two dogs, a Husky and an Australian Shepherd. An avid hiker and camper, Kyli has embraced the different landscapes Maine offers compared to Colorado, where she previously resided.
Kyli Day’s story is a testament to Guardian’s commitment to excellence in mental health and addiction treatment. Her dedication and leadership continue to make a significant impact on the lives of those she works with, both clients and colleagues alike.
Thank you for all that you do, Kyli!
