Our Unique Approach
At New Pathway Counseling, we take pride in our unique SOARFIT program, a holistic approach to addiction treatment designed for adults striving toward sobriety, health, and fitness. Our program focuses on healing the mind, body, and spirit in a nurturing environment, emphasizing the importance of physical fitness and emotional and spiritual well-being as foundational elements for sustained recovery. The SOARFIT model integrates a continuum of care from intensive outpatient treatment to individual, family, and group therapies, underpinned by the innovative use of PEMF therapy and functional integrated therapy to manage stress and enhance overall wellness.
Our approach is deeply rooted in the belief that recovery is a journey that encompasses more than just abstinence; it’s about building a fulfilling and healthy lifestyle. Through individualized program plans, we offer a blend of therapies, including group sessions for mutual support, spiritual guidance to deepen self-awareness, and family support to address addiction as a comprehensive family issue. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
At New Pathway Counseling, we are deeply committed to providing the most effective outpatient treatment for those struggling with addictive disorders. Recognizing the profound impact that substance abuse has on every facet of life, whether it involves alcohol, drugs, or both, we’ve crafted a holistic approach to healing. Our SOARFIT addiction treatment program is designed specifically for adults and their families, focusing on nurturing the mind, body, and spirit toward a comprehensive recovery.
The SOARFIT program is ideal for adults seeking a path to sobriety, health, and fitness. This unique recovery program is built on the belief that a holistic approach, which challenges and nurtures the body, mind, and spirit in a supportive and enriching environment, can make sobriety a desirable, possible, and attainable goal. We emphasize the critical role of maintaining physical fitness alongside emotional and spiritual well-being as a cornerstone of preventing relapse. Through dedicated workout routines, our participants find effective strategies for stress relief, craving management, and immune system enhancement.
Our program is structured around a continuum-of-care model, ensuring that each participant receives the level of support and intervention needed to achieve and maintain sobriety. Starting with an intensive outpatient treatment phase, individuals then transition to tailored sessions, including individual, family, and group therapies, all while being encouraged to engage in ongoing services as part of our relapse prevention program.
A vital element of the SOARFIT program is developing an Individualized Program Plan crafted from a comprehensive initial assessment. This plan may include weekly individual therapy sessions where the benefits of PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy are utilized to modify the body’s stress responses, enhancing overall well-being and reducing reactivity to stress. PEMF therapy, notably approved by the FDA for treating severe, drug-resistant depression, plays a significant role in our holistic treatment approach.
Group therapy sessions offer a space for participants to share their recovery journeys under the guidance of addiction treatment specialists, fostering an environment of mutual support and learning. These sessions are instrumental in reinforcing positive coping mechanisms and strategies to navigate the challenges and risks that go hand-in-hand with newfound sobriety.
Understanding the role of spirituality in recovery, our specialists guide participants through the process of recognizing the importance of a higher power in their healing journey. This spiritual guidance aims to deepen the individual’s self-awareness and purpose. Similarly, family support is integral to our approach, acknowledging addiction as a family disease and offering vital support and education to family members involved in the recovery process.
Incorporating Functional Integrated Therapy, we integrate physical exercise and activity into recovery programs, empowering participants to make positive life changes as they improve their physical fitness, self-image, and confidence. This transformative process turns doubt into action, enhancing the ability to manage emotional, social, and physical stressors that could jeopardize recovery.
Finally, our relapse prevention sessions serve as a crucial component to reinforce the skills and tools necessary for maintaining sobriety. At New Pathway Counseling, our SOARFIT program is more than just treatment; it’s a new beginning toward a healthier, happier life.
New Pathway Counseling offers a transformative Adolescent Day Program tailored for individuals aged 12 to 18 who require a more structured environment than traditional outpatient care and school settings can provide. This program is ideal for adolescents grappling with substance use disorders and emotional difficulties and those who find themselves at odds with conventional educational systems. Utilizing the innovative Soarfit model, our approach incorporates PEMF therapy, which has been shown to significantly alter the body’s response to stress by acting on the endocrine and nervous systems, thereby reducing reactivity to stress and aiding in the treatment of severe, drug-resistant depression.
Our program is not just about addressing substance use; it’s about holistic healing and personal growth. We focus on developing a mindset geared towards optimizing both body and brain function, enhancing the healing potential on both emotional and physical levels, and significantly reducing relapse rates. Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to equip adolescents with a wide array of essential skills for daily living, including mindfulness for self-awareness, dialectal skills for grasping reality, emotional skills for habit formation, stress management, interpersonal skills for social interaction, and behavioral skills for outcome management. By eliminating external distractions and focusing on strengthening the mind, body, and spirit connection, our program fosters an environment conducive to recovery and personal development.
Operating Monday through Friday, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the program includes an initial evaluation covering mental health and substance use assessments to diagnose and recommend the appropriate level of care. With the active involvement of the adolescent, their family, school, and our interdisciplinary team, an individualized treatment plan is crafted to address each participant’s unique needs. Daily services encompass evidence-based therapy, exercise, and group and individual counseling, with a strong emphasis on family therapy, underpinning our commitment to an abstinence-based recovery approach that includes screening for illicit substances as part of the treatment protocol.
At the heart of our medical team is a board-certified adolescent psychiatrist complemented by educational support led by a state-certified teacher. This holistic team effort ensures that each adolescent not only advances in their recovery journey but also remains academically engaged, completing assignments and maintaining performance levels, with continuous coordination with their school district. This integrated approach underscores our dedication to the comprehensive well-being and future success of the adolescents in our care.
Medically-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Services
At New Pathway, we offer a therapeutic, clinically proven intervention known as medication-assisted treatment (MAT) that can help. Addiction is a chronic brain disease that affects individuals by taking control of their brain and body, altering brain chemistry, and actively contributing to tolerance and dependence. MAT can help you break free from this chronic, potentially debilitating disease and focus on healing and wellness.
MAT is considered a highly effective approach, fostering sobriety and wellness by combining medication with behavioral therapy, support groups, and other therapeutic strategies. MAT features medications to help diminish cravings, manage unpleasant and painful withdrawal symptoms, and stabilize brain chemistry. It is widely considered to be a vital component of addiction recovery when integrated into an individualized, comprehensive approach to treatment.
If you have an opioid use disorder (OUD), MAT may be used to address any withdrawal symptoms you experience during detox. Opioids include prescription medications such as hydrocodone and oxycodone, as well as illicit drugs such as heroin and fentanyl. Currently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved three medications for the treatment of OUD, which include naltrexone, buprenorphine, and methadone.
We also address AUDs through the use of MAT, including medications such as naltrexone, acamprosate, and disulfiram. Alcohol withdrawal can lead to many of the same symptoms as opioids but may also include potentially lethal effects, such as heart complications and seizures.
Because MAT can effectively mitigate cravings and withdrawal symptoms, it can help motivate you to remain in treatment and significantly reduce your risk of relapse.
The SOARFIT Model
The SOARFIT Model is a pioneering approach to recovery that integrates the latest therapeutic technology with traditional treatment methods to foster holistic healing. The SOARFIT model is designed to support individuals on their journey towards sobriety, improved health, and overall wellness, utilizing a multifaceted strategy that addresses the mind, body, and spirit. This innovative model is at the core of our programs, providing a comprehensive pathway to recovery that goes beyond conventional methods.
At the heart of the SOARFIT approach is the use of PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy, a cutting-edge treatment that has been shown to alter the body’s stress responses significantly. By directly impacting the endocrine and nervous systems, as well as the cells and organs, PEMF therapy helps reduce the body’s reactivity to stress. The FDA has approved it for treating severe, drug-resistant depression. This technology forms a cornerstone of our treatment, enhancing the body’s natural healing processes and optimizing brain function.
The SOARFIT model is grounded in the belief that true recovery and wellness require a holistic approach. To this end, we emphasize not only the physical aspects of healing but also the mental and spiritual dimensions. Our program is designed to increase the healing potential of our clients, both emotionally and physically, reduce relapse rates, and equip them with a comprehensive set of skills for daily living. These skills include mindfulness for increased self-awareness, dialectical skills for understanding reality, emotional skills for developing healthy habits, stress management skills for self-care, interpersonal skills for social interaction, and behavioral skills for managing outcomes.
Our commitment to the SOARFIT model reflects our understanding that recovery is a multifaceted process that demands a comprehensive approach. By integrating PEMF therapy with a robust curriculum focused on skill development and personal growth, we provide our clients with the tools they need to build a strong foundation for long-term recovery. Whether through individual therapy, group sessions, or our unique therapeutic exercises, the SOARFIT model is designed to support and empower individuals as they embark on their journey to a healthier, more fulfilling life.
The SOARFIT model embodies our commitment to innovation and excellence in the field of recovery. By embracing the latest in therapeutic technology and combining it with a holistic treatment approach, we offer a unique and effective pathway to recovery that addresses the needs of the whole person. At New Pathway Counseling, we are dedicated to providing our clients with the support, guidance, and tools they need to soar beyond their challenges and achieve lasting wellness.
Aftercare Planning
No addiction recovery program is complete without extensive aftercare planning. The transition back to fully independent living can be challenging, and it is absolutely crucial that a solid plan is in place before inpatient treatment comes to an end. We make sure that every client is prepared with a clear-cut set of instructions and a lengthy list of recovery resources before he or she graduates from our program. We begin instilling many skills that prepare our clients for success in long-term recovery while they are still in treatment, however. In group and individual therapy sessions we work to instill like skills, healthy coping mechanisms, relapse prevention skills and a thorough introduction to the 12 step model of addiction recovery. 12 step programs like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous remain crucial components of nearly every aftercare plan. Our Admissions Process
