The Guardian Approach
Client Experience

At Guardian Recovery we are committed to providing our clients with a positive, empowering, educational, self-revealing and ultimately transformative experience in our treatment programs. Since 2006 we have been helping individuals get sober, stay sober and grow in recovery. We help individuals heal emotional wounds, better their relationships, discard unhealthy behaviors, learn helpful coping mechanisms, find their authentic selves, grow in their spirituality, establish goals and empower them to change their lives.

Step One
We Help Clients Get Sober

First, we help our clients get sober. Through our medical detox facilities, we help individuals make the difficult transition from active addiction to physical sobriety. Our facilities use medication assisted treatment to help ease the pain of withdrawal and make detox safe. Withdrawal can be a highly uncomfortable, dangerous and even life-threatening experience without medical and emotional support. Our facilities aim to make the detox process as comfortable as possible.

Our facilities are all homestyle environments with modern amenities and compassionate staff where clients can feel comfortable, safe and secure. At each of our medical detox facilities, we have private and semi-private rooms with plush bedding, serene lounge spaces, individual therapist offices, cozy group therapy rooms, a 24/7 snack cafe and a dining room that serves three home-cooked meals a day.

Once a client is physically sober, we begin teaching them the basic tools they will need to stay sober. We also begin some therapeutic work to start to uncover the roots of why an individual has ended up at our facility. This could include an assessment by a psychiatric professional, individual therapy and family therapy. Our case managers and clinical staff help individuals craft a strategic plan for their ongoing recovery. For some this will involve transitioning into a residential inpatient facility or partial hospitalization program. Others will enroll in an intensive outpatient program which will allow them to return to their day-to-day lives while also undergoing treatment several days a week, for several hours at a time. Our caring staff helps prepare individuals for whatever their next step is following detox.

Step Two
We Help Clients Stay Sober

Following medical detox, we help our clients heal, grow and learn the critical tools they will need to maintain sobriety. To facilitate personal healing, we offer individual therapygroup therapy and family therapy. Our therapists are well-trained in a wide range of therapeutic methods including cognitive behavioral therapydialectical behavior therapymotivational interviewingtrauma therapy and 12-Step recovery modalities.

Through therapy, our clients learn coping mechanisms for dealing with their emotions, communication methods for improving their relationships, tools for controlling their impulses and a number of other skills important to maintaining sobriety. We help clients develop life skills, learn relapse prevention techniques and introduce clients to different outside recovery communities where they can find ongoing support following treatment. By helping clients heal from the past and prepare for the future, we set up a solid foundation for continued recovery.

Step Three We Offer Continued Support

As our clients slowly reintegrate into their day-to-day lives in the world-at-large, we provide continued support. The time following treatment can be the riskiest, most challenging time in an individual’s recovery journey. They will be faced with temptation, difficult relationships, triggering situations, life responsibilities and the struggle of cleaning up their pasts. Our staff helps our clients through this difficult phase. This could look like support in an intensive outpatient setting, continued therapy, staying connected through our aftercare and alumni programs, helping individuals transition into sober living or encouraging clients to get involved in a recovery community of their choosing. At Guardian Recovery, we do everything in our power to support our clients as they start applying all they’ve learned through our programs in their lives.

Compassionate, Professional Staff

At Guardian Recovery, clients can expect to treated by kind, empathetic professionals who are passionate about recovery. Guardian is highly selective about who we hire. Our staff is made up of highly-experienced professionals with decades of experience in the behavioral health and addiction treatment fields. We invest in training our staff in the most up-to-date, evidence-based methodologies for treatment. And our support staff goes above and beyond to help the families and loved ones of our clients throughout the journey. Many of our staff members are either in recovery themselves, or have helped a love one find recovery. They can empathize with exactly where you’re at. Our leadership team at Guardian provides critical oversight to each and every facility to ensure that our high clinical and ethical standards are met at every location we have.

Evidence & Experience Based Programs

Our programs are first-and-foremost based on evidence-based treatment methods. We have built our programs using the latest science on effective treatment methods. We also have utilized more than 15 years of client feedback to better our programs. Secondly, our programs facilitate community building. We build bonds between our clients, our staff and local recovery communities to support our clients. And lastly, we utilize holistic approaches when they will benefit our clients. These could include things like meditation, yoga and acupuncture. Our programs aim to tackle addiction at every level — physical, mental, emotional and physical. We find taking this holistic approach to addiction treatment offers our clients the absolute best chance at lifelong recovery.

Family Involvement

Families and loved ones can expect to be involved in the recovery process. At Guardian Recovery we believe that family involvement is crucial to long-term sobriety, and we believe that because addiction deeply affects everyone it touches, the family should have the opportunity to heal simultaneously. We offer professionally facilitated family therapy sessions and a family workshop for additional support, addiction education and therapeutic healing.

A Client-Centric Approach to Treatment

At Guardian Recovery we believe the well-being of each individual client and his or her family should consistently come first. We offer an integrated approach to treatment that focuses on a complete restoration of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
