Guardian Recovery
First Health Network for Addiction Treatment
At Guardian Recovery we work closely with major regional providers like First Health Network in order to make our addiction treatment services as accessible as possible to those in need. We understand that dealing with the financial components of addiction treatment can seem overwhelming, and that committing to a long-term program of addiction recovery is daunting in and of itself. For this reason we provide free, no obligation health insurance benefit checks in order to help you and your loved one determine how much is covered by your current plan.
First Health Network is a subsidiary of Aetna, and is currently one of the largest PPO networks in the nation. PPO stands for preferred provider organization, and PPO plans offer a large network of healthcare providers that have agreed to provide their services to plan members at a specific rate. First Health Network serves a range of payers including third party administrators, employers, carriers and government entities, and offers cost-saving solutions including urban, suburban and rural access, solutions for out-of-network claims, simple implementation and administration, and strong regional networks. If you or your loved one is currently insured through First Health Network or any other major regional or national provider, there is a good chance that some or all of the addiction treatment services provided by Guardian Recovery are covered either partially or in full. We work closely with most major providers in order to ensure that our programs of addiction recovery are as accessible as possible to those in need.
Does First Health Network Cover Addiction Treatment?
Up until recently, mental health and physical health were considered essentially unrelated, and individuals with mental health concerns required a different form of insurance in order to receive any applicable services. As of 2014, most major insurance providers are legally required to cover mental health services, behavioral health services and substance abuse treatment. When the Affordable Care Act was passed by the Obama administration, it mandated that mental health services be considered essential, and that those in need of substance abuse treatment (medically monitored detox, inpatient rehab, intensive outpatient treatment, outpatient treatment) have immediate access to these services at no additional cost — assuming the service provider is in-network. All of the services provided by Guardian Recovery are in-network with First Health Network, meaning that if you are currently insured through this major provider there is a very good chance that you will be left with very few — if any — out-of-pocket expenses.

Guardian’s Addiction Treatment
The addiction services we provide include:
- In-depth clinical and medical assessments – Upon admission to any one of the levels of clinical care we provide, the new client undergoes an in-depth clinical and medical assessment. This helps our staff members determine which treatment methods are going to be the most effective and whether or not additional services – like dual diagnosis treatment or vocational training – are required.
- Case management services – Each client is paired with a licensed case manager who serves as an advocate and as the main point of contact between the treatment team and the loved ones of the client. Case managers help clients develop personal treatment goals and long-term recovery plans, which include a continuation of clinical care.
- Professionally staged interventions – Addiction is a disease of denial, and it is not uncommon for individuals who are suffering from substance dependency to refuse the professional help they so clearly need. At Guardian Recovery we work closely with several licensed interventionists who have years of firsthand experience and extremely high success rates. If your loved one has been refusing treatment it is important that any attempted intervention is professionally staged and that the entire process is carefully orchestrated.
- Individual therapy – Clients have access to individual therapy sessions at least once every week. In individual therapy they dive deeper into the underlying causes of substance abuse and explore personal recovery goals.
- Group therapy – Group therapy sessions take place on a daily basis and allow clients the opportunity to provide one another with peer support and encouragement as they learn to communicate in healthy and effective ways. Group therapy sessions cover a range of pertinent topics, from relapse prevention to mindfulness techniques.
- Family therapy and family retreat workshops – At Guardian Recovery we believe that the family plays an integral role in addiction recovery, and we encourage family involvement every step of the way. In addition to offering family therapy we have developed a Family Retreat Workshop that focuses on healing the family as a unit and addressing the individual needs of each family member simultaneously.
- Dual diagnosis treatment options – We offer dual diagnosis treatment options to men and women who have been struggling with substance abuse and a mental illness like anxiety, depression or bipolar disorder.
- Medication assisted treatment (MAT) and medication management services – MAT can be a crucial part of medical detox, and some clients require psychopharmaceutical intervention. We offer medication management services during every stage of our recovery process.
- 12-step program immersion – 12-step programs like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are an important part of every long-term program of recovery. We thoroughly introduce our clients to the 12 steps by breaking them down individually and exploring the principles behind each step in depth.
- Aftercare monitoring – At Guardian Recovery we remain invested in the well-being of our clients long after they complete treatment. In order to ensure that our past clients are staying committed to their recovery programs we offer aftercare monitoring services and ongoing follow-ups.
Covering the Cost of Treatment
At Guardian Recovery we understand that the stress involved in covering the cost of addiction treatment could be a major deterrent for those who are in need of professional care. Our goal is to make quality clinical care affordable and accessible to everyone who needs it. We are also dedicated to making the entire process as stress-free as possible for you and your loved ones. If you have been suffering at the hands of a substance abuse disorder of any severity, we are available to help. Simply give our Treatment Advisors a call and they will immediately set to work helping you develop a viable intake plan. Covering the cost of treatment can certainly seem overwhelming – but it truly never has to be. Whether you are currently insured, underinsured or entirely uninsured, there are options available to you. Not only do we accept most major health insurance providers, but we accept private pay and out-of-pocket payment. We work with you, remaining flexible and understanding that active addiction often severely compromises financial capability. Many of our staff members have either overcome addiction themselves or have helped a family member through the recovery process – therefore, our staff members always come from a place of respect, deep compassion and understanding.
