Independence BCBS Healthcare for Addiction Treatment
At each of our Guardian Recovery facilities, we understand that when choosing a recovery facility for yourself or your loved ones, the cost of care is among the most pressing concerns.
At each of our addiction treatment and mental health centers in Florida and Maine, we will act as your champion and advocate to maximize your insurance benefits and to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses as much as possible.
In our commitment to provide affordable access to our world-class recovery services and facilities, including detoxification programs, as well as inpatient and outpatient care, we’ve recently joined the network of providers who accept Independence BCBS health insurance. The Independence Health Group serves over eight million members nationwide with a diverse range of products. You may receive Independence BCBS benefits from your employer, as an individual, or in partnership with a Medicaid or Medicare plan. Independence BCBS offers both HMO and PPO managed care plans.
Thanks to initiatives put forth by Independence BCBS and the Independence BCBS Foundation, members using opioids have decreased by 30% since 2017, visits to detoxification facilities are no longer limited, pre-authorization requirements for alcohol and drug addiction treatment have been reduced, and over 100 substance abuse rehabilitation facilities have been added to the Independence BCBS network.
Members of Independence can rest assured that their coverage includes all the essential health benefits as required by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), including mental health and substance abuse treatment, behavioral health benefits, prescription drugs, and wellness and preventative services. There is no cap to these essential health benefits, and the coverage must be equally comprehensive as coverage for medical and surgical benefits. As Blue cardholders within the BCBS network, Independence BCBS members have access to the nation’s largest network of healthcare providers.
If your plan is a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plan, your benefits are maximized when you receive care from an in-network provider. If your plan is a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), or Exclusive Provider Organization (EMO) plan, there may be a wider range of options available to you. Within each plan type, the member’s deductible or copayment amounts will vary, thus the quickest and easiest way to learn about your benefits and begin treatment is to speak with a Guardian Recovery intake specialist.
Whether your plan is an HMO, PPO or EPO, substance abuse treatment provided by the Guardian Recovery, including inpatient stays and outpatient rehabilitation programs, may require preapproval by your primary care provider (PCP). Our intake specialists can assist you with all necessary referrals prior to your enrollment in any treatment plan.
Choosing the right addiction treatment center can be daunting, and with Guardian Recovery’s expertise, it doesn’t need to be. We’re elevating treatment standards, beginning with the assurance that your insurance coverage is working for you at each of our facilities.
Our goal is to help you begin your treatment as soon as possible. Should you need any assistance navigating our locations, our offerings, our individualized programs, or our insurance guidelines, we’re here to help. Call us at (888) 481-3944. Together we will secure a thriving future for you and your family.
